Understanding your back condition from the beginning is critical to achieving the best possible relief from your pain. Our expert OCS physical therapy team conducts hands-on spinal screenings and provides information your primary care physician needs to determine the best course of action for you — whether it's physical therapy, pain management, surgery, or a combination of treatments.

In just 30 minutes, your Orthopedic Certified Specialist can help you understand the potential causes of your back pain and get you on the way to receiving the proper treatment for spine relief.

How The Screening Works:

• You'll fill out a medical history and back pain description form in advance of your appointment
• Your OCS will interview you personally to discuss the nature of your back painYour OCS will then conduct a physical exam to determine the causes of your pain, which may include a postural screening and motion/mobility screening
• After the exam, you may experience soreness. If appropriate, your OCS will provide instruction on home ice treatments to manage your soreness

What You'll Receive:

• Information and directions regarding exercise, correct posture, and stretching
• Notes from the screening for you to share with your physician
• Recommendations, including disability index results, for you to share with your physician
• If needed, a list of physician specialists who can provide further care
